Being perpetually behind I just read the messages about strange
doublings. I'd probably qualify- my instrument variety is limited only
by time and finances! While I've played Rackett on occasion it isn't a
regular, neither is tenor gamba or guitar. I had a horrifying experience
with a harpsichord performance; once. I do frequently play bass gamba
and the full range of recorders with a trio of friends and with a
University Early Music group. Occasionally I play treble gamba or lute
as well. Those aren't the only occupants of my overstuffed music room- I
teach Orchestral strings and have tended to overlook the poor
much-maligned viola in favor of the easily-transported violin and
much-enjoyed cello. There is a beautiful but ineptly played Bodran.... I
have the usual compliment of winds and played Oboe in National Guard for
a while since they already had plenty of clarinetists. I wouldn't say
I'm of equal ability on all of these instruments though. I would really
only advertise a few to the general public: Clarinet, Piano, Bass Gamba
and Recorders.

I hope that everyone is on track with a wonderful new year. I'll keep
checking through to see what I've missed.

Take Care,
Anne
