I see your shudder and raise you a cringe. I feel sorry for Charlotte
Church. That voice sounds to me like the real thing, but she's overusing
it. She's already got a very wide vibrato for a woman that young. If she
stays on her current schedule and she can still sing on pitch five years
from now, I'll be surprised.

She seems to be surrounded be handlers, exploiting her to the fullest,
dictating her repertory for maximum profit, trotting her around on a killer
concert tour schedule and surrounding her with an atmosphere of kitsch
slathered with cheese for maximum popular appeal. They're treating her as
if she's a Flavor of the Month pop diva whose voice could blow out next
week and it wouldn't matter, because everybody will have dismissed her as
stale cheesecake by then anyway. I think her voice deserves better than
that. She could have an opera or a recital career. If she dumped all that
glam sham and sang better music, she could earn respect, and it might not
be too late for her to fight for it.

She's shown some signs of rebellion, off and on. She's getting old enough
to rebel effectively enough to extricate herself from contractual
obligations to these parasites, if she wants to. I hope she does want to
take charge of her own career with a manager who will protect her voice.
