Congratulations indeed! What duties will you have now?

Dear Lelia
I took this course in the first place for the fun of doing it. But there =
is also a more serious background:
I play in two orchestras. In the better one of the two the conductor =
plays in the Dutch Mariners band and has to miss a couple of rehearsals =
due to his military obligations. It is not always easy to replace him by =
another professional, so I conduct in his place occasionally. Brings me =
a free drink during the intermission and after the rehearsal, what for =
the band is a lot cheaper than a professional.
And in the lesser of the two -- actually: my examination band, at least =
partially -- the conductor every now and then spends some time in =
Hungary, where he has a second house. We do have an excellent substitute =
for him, but this substitute also is not always available. And then I =
conduct in Maartensdijk, on the same conditions.
I have no higher aspirations: I once again filled in one of the missed =
chances in my life. That's about all.
Rien
