Serious question, despite the attempt at humour in the subject line.

I have just acquired a Noblet clarinet from Ebay. I haven't played it
yet, and it is obvious that it is in need of a bit of love and
attention. But the first thing I notice (and this is not the first
clarinet that I have found this with) is a musty smell that is
immediately obvious on opening the case, and is also quite clearly
attached to the clarinet itself, as a simple nose test will confirm.

How do I get rid of this? Knowing that there are a number of people on
the list who buy up stuff from Ebay, I would imagine that someone else
has had this experience before.
