My Noblet Alto has the mechanism described below. The Bb was terribly sharp
for 6 months, with both holes open.
I finally found the end of a small broken spring that closed the top hole
and opened the bottom hole. It was repaired and the intonation is fine now.
We depend a lot on those little springs.
