Please Tony, see the another mensage.
But, with respect, I would like to ask, too, who is Daniella Thompson.
American, English?? Musician or not?? I don't know. I am just shure she is
not Brazilian to say those things. How deeply she have gone? First or second
hand information??
I have been reserching Brazilian music for the past 10 years. I can tell you
that 90% of the books about Brazilian music have big mistakes and conflict
information. Choro music are played in a diferent way it is found on the
paper.
There is two diferent views on brazilian music subject: see scores and
listen to the music "in loco". I think it makes diference and could answer
why she wrote those things.
All choros are similar on rythm matter - at least on the paper. Maybe for
that reason she did that unhappy comparison.

Best

Fernando
