To me, this doesn't sound like a very good deal, especially if the
intonation is only ok.

Based on the serial number list at
http://www.woodwind.org/clarinet/Equipment/HowOld/Buffet.html it is
probably from late 1964 to early 1965, in other words 40 years old.

I think the price is $300-500 too high. I bought an essentially unused
Buffet Festival A clarinet on E-bay in 2002 and paid $1750 for it.
