I play on 4 and 5 vandoren and vandoren v12's all the time. My mouthpiece
is a Gigliotti P facing. It works for me. Someday when I have more dough,
I'll look into getting a different MP that has some different intonation
characteristics.

Subject: [kl] reeds

Can someone here tell me why they make a 5 strength clarinet reed?
Does anyone actually play such a thing?

I bought a Mitchell Lurie (or was it a Vandoren?) 5 once just as a
novelty, and it was like trying to blow through tree bark.

Really, what is the point?
