Joe,

It has been my experience that they are highly consistent, but clearly yours
is not quite the same. Ah well. I agree with Walter of course that nothing
can be manufactured exactly the same each time (I have similar experience to
him, as director of technology for a manufacturing company! I wish!) let
alone from a natural material. So I should temper my statement: the degree
of variability in Legere reeds is very, very much smaller than in cane
reeds.

Joe, have you ever had a Legere reed that you had to reject completely? Has
anyone?
