You won't be surprised to know that I couldn't agree more:-)

As an aside, the argument I snipped explains why we find it difficult to
'copy' a violin made by Stradivarius. Clearly he couldn't have been
following just one template -- because no one piece of wood is like another,
particularly in the way it vibrates.

So his instruments are all subtly different, even though they are all
superlative.

His was a much more sophisticated expertise. We might do worse than try to
follow his example.
