Assistant Professor of Clarinet

Responsibilities> Teach studio clarinet to undergraduate and graduate
clarinet majors, teach studio saxophone and other courses as needed,
including single reed methods courses. Performances on and off campus,
recruiting, and departmental and university-wide committee work will be
expected. =20

Qualifications> Artist level performer, completed doctorate preferred
(substantiated ABD considered). Strong consideration will be given to
applicants with previous college teaching experience and significant
performing experience outside of academe. Excellent organizational and
computer skills should be evident.=20

Rank and salary> Full Time, Tenure Track Assistant Professor. WCU is a
member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. Salaries
and benefits are highly competitive. Minimum starting salary will be
$45,630.30.

School of Music> The School of Music, which is housed within the
College of Visual & Performing Arts, has approximately 40 full-time and
20 part-time faculty members and serves approximately 500 music majors.
It enjoys full NASM membership and offers fully-accredited degrees in
Music Education, Theory and Composition, Music History and Music
Performance on the undergraduate and graduate levels.

recommendation, copies of transcripts (originals must be in hand at
interviews), a list of courses previously taught or within the
candidate's ability to teach, a list of phone references, recent
programs of recitals and concerts, and other supporting materials. Do
not send recordings at this time. Compact discs will be requested of
semifinalists. Finalists will be chosen from the pool of candidates who
successfully complete interviews. Please do not send original materials
as application packets cannot be returned. Only completed applications

take issue with the words you choose, but I hope you'll be interested in
