I am not an authority on reeds, however, I do believe all fine players have
a method that works and works very well for their own needs. I believe
somewhere along the line people are a bit confused about the ideas I am
expressing here...

Walter has great success with his method and this means we should all try
different things...it would be nice to hear what other "pros and amateurs"
out there on this list are doing to get their reeds to work...

I use V12 Vandoren No. 4 reeds and find they work best for me as well.

Different brands require different types of adjustment...

I am somewhat dissapointed that Vandoren are not keeping the grain of the
reed straight with the rails ..this has been noticed by my students as well.
