This is all just opportunistic bullshit.

The most important thing about reed-making is to understand what you want the
reed to do for you in your playing, and to appreciate where it is supplying
that, and where it is lacking.

Until you know that -- and it's non-trivial knowledge -- all of this is
useless.

I'm not saying that Steve Adelstein may not have things that may be useful
for a good player.

But this puff goes well beyond that.
