Hi folks! I've changed my e-mail address and finally have resubcribed to
the group. I hope I didn't miss too much but I know I can browse through
the lists to read the posts if I want.
I've been looking for a bass clarinet for my daughter for Christmas.
She is currently playing a plastic Vito that is school-owned and will be
switching schools next year, so heaven only knows what condition the other
school's bass clarinets are in. I currently have 5 of our middle school's
bass clarinets here at home-4 Vitos and one Bundy and only one is in
"reasonable" playing condition. Some are missing parts and the Bundy is
ready for the junk heap.
My daughter loves the bass clarinet and we did try a used Selmer low C
last year but found the large two-piece bore was rather difficult for a girl
who is 5'3" tall and weighs all of 100 pounds to put together. Now I'm
wishing I had purchased that Selmer, since I've discovered a good used bass
clarinet is hard to find. Please let me know if any of you have any leads
or if you see anything on E Bay that might be worth a look.
