As near as I can determine from my experience, EVERY wooden Eb clarinet has
or will have a cracked barrel! Some of the other problems you describe
MIGHT be caused by leakage at the crack. You might want to check that out
first.

Pulling out the barrel so far will tend to have a major effect on the
throat notes on any clarinet. Tuning rings should help that, if you can
get/make some to fit an Eb. I made a ring that works great for my A
clarinet out of a hose washer.
