At least once a rehearsal in the Huntington Beach Concert Band I'll
say
something to the effect of,
"A guy from the KLARINET discussion group wrote to me this week, . .
." or,
"An interesting posting came across the KLARINET discussion group the
other
day and. . ."

and not a single other clarinetist in the past 5 years or longer has
ever
said, "Hey, I'd like to subscribe to that list; how do I do it?" In
fact
no one has ever said, "What's the KLARINET discussion group?" Come to
think of it, a glaze rather goes over their eyes when I say that. I
know
all of them use computers and send messages by e-mail, so it beats me
why
more people aren't interested in such a list. They're probably
preoccupied
with all the porn pages. 8-)
