Ormondtoby Montoya responded to Tony Pay:

>On the other hand, if I didn't recognize you, or if
>you were wearing a trenchcoat and hiding your face and you looked
>sneaky, or if I hadn't seen who picked up my clarinet in the first place, I would be considerably more nervous and I would respond more
>vigorously.
>
All right, this thread has been pretty serious, but for some reason, I
just couldn't get past THIS!

I get this mental picture of Antony Pay, world class clarinettist,
skulking about backstage at a concert, clad in a trenchcoat, wearing a
black fedora and mirrored sunglasses at night, looking exceedingly
sneaky... looking about for Rossi, Patricola and Yamaha customized
clarinets to "manhandle", perhaps to "borrow" someone's reproduction of
a 18th century bassett horn, tiptoe surreptitiously to an underground
practice room, and play a delicious Mozart cadenza on it, then return
it... all of this under Ormondtoby's unsuspecting nose...

(I don't know, but from his publicity photos on his website, Tony
doesn't look like he skulks...)

(With apologies to Kathy, with whom I've corresponded off the list. I
VERY much understand the situation she is in, also being a parent of
school aged children)

...but, the mental picture you create, Ormondtoby, is just TOO MUCH! LOL
