4TH ANNUAL U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY BAND CLARINET DAY

Clarinetists of all ages and abilities are invited to join the
United States Naval Academy Band's clarinet section as they host the 4th
Annual U.S. Naval Academy Band Clarinet Day. This year's event will
span two days and will be held at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church,
Annapolis. On Thursday, November 18th at 5:00 P.M., Professor Edwin
Riley, clarinet professor at the University of North Carolina,
Greensboro, will conduct a master class for all on the topic of "Playing
the Clarinet in the Vocal Style." The evening continues at 8:00 P.M.
with a guest recital featuring new music and classics from the clarinet
repertoire. On Friday, November 19th at 5:00 P.M., Professor Maureen
Hurd, clarinet professor at Rutgers University, will conduct a master
class entitled "Analysis for Performance: Making the Difficult Easy and
More Musical." The event will conclude with an exciting U.S. Naval
Academy Band Clarinet Choir Concert at 8:00 P.M., conducted by Musician
First Class Marc Boensel.
All Naval Academy Band concerts are free of charge and open to
the public with no tickets required. St. Margaret's Episcopal Church is
