As an aside, I recently had a leather pad on my chalumeau A key replaced
with what I was told is called a 'SuperPad'. This was because the =
moisture
was forming into an air-tight funnel that caused the clarinet to squeak =
on
softer notes. It doesn't stop the moisture forming, but it does seem to =
stop
it adhering to the pad.=20

Subject: [kl] Problems with water

Hello

I=B4m a swedish amateur clarinetist and have been on the list for a =
while
reading with interest the various subjects.
Now I have really a problem. Me and some orchestra-friends are doing the
Beethoven septet on friday night. We rehearsed today and I=B4ve got =
problem
with water coming up from the hole under the pad to the trill-key on =
right
hand, (the Eb/Bb-key).
It=B4s really troubling me. Some suggestions would be useful. Shall I =
oil my
instrument? (Its an old Buffet S1 from early seventies that sounds =
really
great, though some people say that the S1 was loaded with problems?)

Please give me some advice on this
