I sometimes leave my instrument(s) out overnight, but I'd advise against it.
I guess accumulated dust (as Audrey points out) is a potential problem, but
what I have found to be the case is that the tenon corks tend to compress
and harden when they go for long periods of time without being able to
breathe and regain their shape. Also, if there's any tendency for the wood
in the joints to bind (which should be attended to anyway if it lasts) it
will be most likely to happen to a clarinet that's been together for days on
end - it may be a nasty surprise when you *do* try to take it apart to go
somewhere with it.
