I look forward to reading responses to Magnus' question. I have a few related questions. What's the conventional wisdom re. how often/when to oil one's clarinet? What about swabbing -- after each time it's played where there's any kind of moisture accumulation? Is it good not to swab under certain conditions (e.g., dry conditions)? Finally, what about leaving the clarinet out on its stand between practice sessions vs. taking it apart and storing it in its case after each session?

Thanks,
Elisa

Hello

I´m a swedish amateur clarinetist and have been on the list for a while reading with interest the various subjects.
Now I have really a problem. Me and some orchestra-friends are doing the Beethoven septet on friday night. We rehearsed today and I´ve got problem with water coming up from the hole under the pad to the trill-key on right hand, (the Eb/Bb-key).
It´s really troubling me. Some suggestions would be useful. Shall I oil my instrument? (Its an old Buffet S1 from early seventies that sounds really great, though some people say that the S1 was loaded with problems?)

Please give me some advice on this
