The pitch discussion is very interesting.

A related story has been told on National Public Radio this morning.

There is technology to correct pitch in recordings; this story tells a little
about it and gives a hilarious demonstration of its use on a sample of rather
poor singing. An individual note in a recording can be moved to the
'correct' pitch. I can think of many ramifications, not the least of which is who is
the artist that decides what the correct pitch is. The story was mostly about
pop, but it suggested at the end that classical artists use it also.
