i don't think that anyone believes sadam was not a tyrant. He should
have been removed. However, it was done under false pretences ie that
he had weapons of mass destruction (ps i don't want to debate whether
they were there and he moved them). George Bush the second's decision
to invade Iraq affected a lot more people than Americans - we have
troops there from australia and i can tell you, it was a damn
unpopular decision here. Because there was an international invasion,
i would love to see Sadam tried in the International Criminal Court in
the Hague. BUT i do believe that America would rather try him (or try
him in Iraq, which is one and the same) so that there is no question
of his guilt.

If you believe so strongly in taking out countries that pose a threat
to the world and have weapons of mass destruction, would you support
invasions of Iran and North Korea? Now i was against Iraq, still am.
But even I, who am opposed to war greatly, would support the invasion
of these two countries. Why hasn't it happened? I'd suggest alterior
motives in invading Iraq.
