There are clarinet parts in jazz band that do exist, but very few. For this
the band directors use doublers, those that who can play both sax and
clarinet and in some cases flute as well.

If the high school band director were to place your daughter, who only knows
clarinet, in the band, she would become bored easily. It would also be a
waste of space for the director and in a professional situation a waste of
money.

There are few parts for clarinet because the clarinet can barely be heard.
Also the trumpet is in the same key, so if there is a melody the composer
wants a Bb instrument to play, they will give it to the trumpet.
