Well, "quite recently" is a rather extreme exaggeration, since the
official shift from 455 Hz to 440 Hz happened about 70 years ago.

Nobody mentioned "low pitch", which refers to A in the 415 range.
We're all talking about variations on high pitch. The international
standard is A=440. Vienna's use of 444 is the result of arrogance on
the part of the violins.
