When you play a written C on any clarinet, the concert pitch of the note
that sounds is the pitch of the instrument. This is true of all the
orchestral instruments (pretty much by definition).

I have heard (on the flute list) that some folk instruments (like tin
whistles) use a different convention based on the sounding note when six
fingers are down.
