How loud can Tony Pay play?

In answer to deal with Tony's thoughts Richard Strauss certainly understood
orchestration.

Strauss was also a gifted conductor as well, so I am on Richard's side here.
As to style how about taking
14 trumpets and 1 clarinet? What do you got?
a brass ensemble with one clarinet.

Playing style is another matter if you ask the trumpets nicely to play
double high C pp so the clarinets can be heard.
