These days, the standard pitch has been creeping up again -- another
failure of international agreements. A=442 is becoming quite common, and
higher in some places. With your short barrel, you are well set to match
pitch pretty much anywhere you play. "Period" music can be all over the
pitch chart, higher or lower.

It could be right, or it may be a little later. Because of that, there is
some question as to whether it is a true, polycylindrical R-13 (ca. 1955)
or an earlier model with more conventional bore. Not that it matters all
that much if YOU like the sound, ergonomics, intonation, and responsiveness.
