Well, there is always the extreme opposite end of trumpet playing as taught
by William Vacchiano (trumpet professor at Juilliard for almost forever).
Change your mouthpiece as often as possible! [Disclaimer: Do not try this
at home. We're trained.. well.. we're trained.]

I think we all do what Claude Gordon suggests. We find the best mouthpiece
we can for any given situation and use it. Best meaning, of course, best
for us.

Bonade use to require that all his students (Juilliard students, at least,
I'm not sure about his private students) use Bonade brand mouthpieces. No
conflict of interest there!
