AS far as I know Stadler had Bassethorns as well as basset clarinet.

There is famous german novel called "Ein Tisch ist ein Tisch" (a table is a
table). It is about an old man who ist mostly alone (the internet was not
invented when this novell was written:-)) and he starts to call things by
other names - the result is he gets lonelier because nobody undestands any
more.

"Bewu=DFtsein macht das Sein" ?!
