Elisa,

One of my close freinds seemed to transpose everything with ease (I do it with some pain, but overall effectiveness). His answer was to do it often until it becomes perfectly natural.

One "trick" is to practice incessantly on your scales and arpeggios... in this way, your fingers will know where to go in any key without thinking about it.

The vast majority of transposition should be in reading music written for "C" instruments like piano or flute. When you are practicing, you may find a cooperative flute player who is willing to work on duets with you.

One nice thing about learning to transpose is that it can "free" you from the page and help you to get a deeper understanding of the music and its underlying structure. Congratulations... don't give up!
