for me in marching band I never really had fun marching until I started on
the Baritone and I believe it made me a better clarinet player...I played the
clarinet one year the Alto sax one year the baritone 2 and the I was on the flag
line and that was fun too...I hated marching with a woodwind in general...it
was hard for me to play them and march at the same time...but the baritone was
easy...my band director like the brassy sound our marching bad is made up of
mostly brass because he would persuade everyone to switch...it made it easier
to grab the clarinet and play concert style then before too.

I remember as her teacher, having "reservations" about playing a brass
instrument while seriously studying clarinet.
