I spent several months just after university, teaching mathematics to 12-16
year olds, in 1966. Even that appalled me.

Yes, you are. People like you are why we took both of our children out of
school at age around 8. The younger one subsequently went back in at 15, but
that was his choice. The elder one just got top marks in his year, and a
prize for that, in his university finals, without ever going back into
school.

No, I didn't. But I don't even know that I would necessarily accept an
engagement with all even standard orchestras, or conductors.
