Speaking of lopsided ratios, low brass seems exactly the opposite. More boys
on low brass than girls. It is pretty lopsided as well.

There might be a pitch thing that goes along with the gender issues.
Children at a younger age believe that high pitch instruments are for girls
and low pitch instruments are considered manly are for boys, like trombone.
