Another variable which should've been reported: the ratios of various
instruments.

Here's an example (admittedly contrived) that claims to prove that
clarinets are a girl's horn and tubas are a boy's horn (upper body
strength, etc):

65% of clarinets are played by girls
67% of tubas are played by boys

But then I admit that my study involved 75 clarinet players and only 3
tuba players:

Tuba --- 2 boys and 1 girl
Clarinet --- 50 girls and 25 boys

How convincing is my claim now?
