Ormondtoby,

I did state the following at the outset:

---
I have decided the value of the hand clap analogy outweighs the potential
confusion in a student's understanding of the true physics of clarinet tone
production. I did try to minimize the confusion, however. Any alternative
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
---

I have read Benade's work. Give me an alternative suggestion and I will be
happy to change what I wrote. I can't come up with a better compromise,
myself. Do remember that I have to assume my audience knows *absolutely
nothing* about physics.

I wouldn't need to do any of this if I could just get everyone to read
Benade's work (and if they all had the mathematical training and scientific
training to understand it). Those are awfully big "if"s.

Thank you for your feedback,

-Adam
