Howard,

It is interesting that you would mention this, as I have a similar problem
on my alto clarinet. I have assumed that it IS due to water
(condensation). My equipment is somewhat different. I usually use a
Vandoren #3 reed on a Vandoren B44 mouthpiece. I have been meaning to get
or make swab long enough to use on the instrument without taking it apart
to see if this helps.
