I spent about a year studying the Rose etudes in College with my
instructor - along with other items of course. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I
bring my experiences with those etudes to my students when I feel they are
ready. I don't approach them in Junior High as it is a rare student indeed
that can really digest these pieces at that age. Of course, this is just my
opinion. Judging by that quote, I would have enjoyed studying with Mr.
Bonade (who wouldn't).

these two editions of Rose.

C082: The New Rose Studies for Clarinet (32 Etudes) by Cyrille Rose edited
by Melvin Warner. Carl Fischer, SS, 40 pages. In this new edition of the 32
Rose Etudes, the editor has drawn on various editions of the 32 Etudes and
the Ferling 48 Etudes on which they are based. He has corrected errors in
time signatures, notes, articulations, etc. He has not added any breathing,
tempo, or other markings not found in the originals. $9.95

C080: 40 Studies for Clarinet Book 1 by Cyrille Rose edited by Donald E.
McCathren. Warner Bros. Publications, SS, 48 pages. Donald E. McCathren has
prepared a lesson plan for each study and annotated the studies with
fingering recommendations. Studies 1-20. $10.95

C081: 40 Studies for Clarinet Book 2 by Cyrille Rose edited by Donald E.
McCathren. Warner Bros. Publications, SS, 48 pages. Studies 21-40. $10.95
