I've been reading it during orchestra rehearsals. The short chapters
make it ideal for passing the time during long rests, especially those
200 or so measures before the first bass clarinet entrance in Dvorak's
"Noon Witch." So as not to be distracted from the book by actually
having to pay attention to the music, I have the second clarinet player
poke my arm when it's time for me to play. The conductor never notices
me unless I miss an entrance, and so far that hasn't happened.

Unfortunately, I did discover an editing mistake on the first page of
Chapter 1. I'm a journalist by profession, so even when I'm reading for
fun I can't help being in copy editor mode at least a little bit. I
think Dan should hire me to copy edit his next book.
