Hello Andy,

I think you just have to try them for yourself. I believe they can help
with some intonation problems.

I have a Clark Fobes barrel on my B-flat R-13 from 1996. To me it makes a
significant improvement in the sound as compared to the stock barrel.

However, when I put the same barrel on my son's 1983 R-13, it doesn't make
any difference at all. So your mileage may vary.
