Subj: [kl] Abato recording help needed/Ab mouthpiece

Hi everyone,

Well, it's been the craziest Fall ever but I'm finally
attempting to dub the fabled Burke-Phillips LP I
have with Jimmy Abato doing the Tchaikovsky Violin
concerto. I have it on mini-disc now but a couple of
problems have occurred:

-a list member advised me to use the Windows (98 SE)
Sound Recorder to dub it onto the hard drive, but when
I hit record it imposes a maximum 60 second limit.
Ideas? Do I use the Line In or Microphone jack? The
mic jack seemed VERY loud and distorted, even with the
speaker volume almost to nothing.

-another lister suggested the free Audiograbber
program but noted it's not in stereo. Is there a way
to do this in stereo? I have Winamp, Nero, Window
Media Player. Will any of these do it?

-does anyone have a lead on a good Ab piccolo
mouthpiece? It seems Vandoren and Leblanc don't make
theirs anymore, and most of the Italian companies
won't sell you just the mouthpiece.

Thanks!
