Which is why you clearly should just avoid these groups and let them have
*their* fun while you find yours elsewhere (which is where you're heading at
the end of your email).

Apparently, they can (have fun). My vote (FWIW) would be to just let them.

I'm surprised they ever wanted to be associated with them in the first
place - at least not as players. It's a whole different level with an
entirely different purpose.

I'm sure we all wish you the very best of luck. With absolutely no sarcasm
or criticism intended, you're probably doing the best thing both for
yourself and the players in the group(s) you complain about. Let them have
their entertainment while you go out and find yours. When they come
(paid-for-tickets in hand) to hear you or other professional players in
concert, they will enjoy listening in a way that most of us who play in
those concerts may never be able to imagine.
