Deadly serious question: was the tin whistle use within music?
And if so, it would have to be pitched. So what pitches does a
tin whistle come in.

On the other hand, Guys and Dolls has a cop or two in it and
maybe you just played the whistle whenever the cops broke up the
crap game.

In a production of "Stop the World I Want to Get Off" I had
clarinet,
tenor sax, flute, piccolo and (shudder) bassoon. The bassoon
plays a
speaking role in Stop the World. I switched back and forth
between two
books.

In a recent production of "Guys and Dolls" I had clarinet, alto
sax,
flute, and tin whistle.
