Tony,

Although I've never tried it, the more modern versions of Sibelius for the
PC/Mac (after 2.0, I think, and certainly after 3.0) do claim to be able to
import Sibelius7 files.

For the rest of the list, Sibelius originated in the UK on a little known
in the states computer known as the Acorn. It was quite successful, but the
owners of Sibelius decided they wanted to expand into the PC/Macintosh
world. Initially, Sibelius for the PC/Mac didn't read the files created on
the Acorn.
