Sabine Meyer has undoubtedly performed the Mozart Clarinet Concerto many
more times than Dan Leeson.

Woe be her to claim Mozart intended the piece to have a cadenza. I would be
right behind Dan with my pitchfork irregardless of the quantity of times
she has performed and recorded the piece. I'm not a violent man, quite
honestly, but some things require drastic measures.

I should add I have no knowledge of her making any such claims. Calm down,
people!

Email is an imperfect medium. I don't think Dan meant any disrespect. I do
believe he's had much too much experience with people making arbitrary
choices and justifying those choices with little or no factual research
(and he is the master of us all when it comes to factual research). So this
was, perhaps, a knee jerk reaction for him. I just don't think the
pitchfork really came out.
