Is the Clarinet really going out??? What would you say the comparison is of
Clarinet to Sax in numbers??? I hope to Major in Clarinet, when I first started
it was popular but then everyone quit and we went from about 9 to 3
Clarinets. For education do you major in an instrument and minor in education??? I am
going to school as soon as we move back to Ohio. Most likely YSU because it is
the closest that I know of that offers music, as I want to stay at home when I
go. I am from the Youngstown, Warren area if anyone knows of any others
please let me know. also if anyone knows and good Clarinet teachers, that would
help too if not I will probably go to daybreak or a little known instrument place
that did the school horns (very well too compared to what I have heard) and
see what they say.
Thank you :)

West Chester University is also posting a vacancy for their clarinet
faculty - it's not posted yet, but it will be, they have the search .
committee together already. I think they're going to look for someone who
can also take some of the sax overload.
I remember when it used to be the other way around, more clarinet majors and
less sax majors.
