Subj: [kl] Eb Alert/Abe Galper tribute concert
Date: Mon, 27 Sep 2004 09:39:44 -0400

Thank you Diane Karius,

That kind of alert is SO helpful to the rest of us,
and will save someone(s) a lot of confusion. Sounds
like composer who badly needs to learn to proofread
parts against score before handing them off to the
librarian for distribution. Sorry you had to go
through that.

I played last night at the tribute concert organized
in Abe Galper's memory, and what a great event it was.
Slide show of Abe and Charna with some of his many
students and conductors, plus his fantastic
caricatures of famous conductors and fellow
players-never knew in all these years that Abe was
such a talented drawing artist too!

The speakers and performances ranged from Abe's very
first student to his last, and the whole thing was
very very touching. Jim Campbell started it all off
with a sublime performance of the Brahms Eb Sonata.

What a great night!
