Someone mentioned fitting an alto clarinet with a low D key.
Would this require a bell extension of some kind, or is it just a matter
of covering the existing vent hole in the bell (on those models that
have such a hole)? Would I then no longer have the low Eb? What brands
or models should I look for that would be suitable for this
modification? I'd really like to have one of these to play the
Mendelssohn Concertpieces and, of course, Mozart.
