In 1964? a Selmer MkVI alto was $500? and the following year was $600-$635?--I have heard that in 1954 they were $300.

In April of 1965 I won a Brilhart Mouthpiece Festival raffle at Ferguson's Music in San Jose, and the prize was $400 credit towards a Selmer instrument. I got my 9* clarinet for that $400 credit ---FULL PRICE. (jUST REBUILT IT---STILL A FINE INSTRUMENT)

In 1973, I paid just under $300 for my Selmer Series 10 with deluxe case
(size of a double, but blocked for a single plus accessories). List price
at the time was $545.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
