The severe problems you have described suggest that your embouchure,
tongue position, breath support, etc are the causes, not the reeds.

It's true that most (but not all) clarinetists adjust their reeds a bit,
and it's true that most (but not all) of us discard some reeds; but when
you say that most of your reeds don't "actually play", this suggests
that something about your technique isn't working, and a few lessons
with a competent teacher is the best answer.
